Established in 2006, the Jensen Community Center Youth Soccer Program was created as a way to make the game of soccer accessible to youth in Amherst and the surrounding communities. The program offers children in 4K through eighth grade the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of the sport including passing, receiving, footwork, positions, rules of the game, and teamwork. Weather permitting, the season last 5 weeks, running from mid-April through mid-May every year with volunteers helping to coach roughly 20-30 teams. Registration begins December 1 with early-bird discounts through December 31, regular registration from January 1 to March 15 and late registration from March 16 to April 1.
