3Stage Expansion Stage 1 checked off

Jensen Center’s multi-stage project moves forward

By Brent Frankenhoff

Stage 1 of the 3Stage Expansion Project was checked off in late September as Alchemy Concrete applied the finishing touches to the International Bank of Amherst Terrace at the Jensen Community Center as this issue went to press.

Keeping the momentum of this multi-year mission going, Stage 2, the installation of a sprinkler and fire alarm system, began immediately with an upgrade by Fahrner Excavating to the water main entering the building. Later this fall, Integrity Fire Protection will add the necessary hardware to the Center to make this long-needed safety upgrade a reality.

Donations to fund the overall project have been coming in, showing the community’s support of the Center’s plans. The Gratitude List on page 2 acknowledges that commitment and plans are being developed for a donor appreciation wall to be added near the terrace after fundraising is complete. Donors who contribute $1,000 or more will be listed on that permanent monument at various levels of giving as shown on the form on page 18 of this issue. Donations are being tracked over the total course of the 3Stage Expansion Project, and donors can move from giving level to giving level with multiple gifts over the two years of fundraising.

We are grateful to all who have supported the project to date, but there’s still a long way to go to raise funds for Stage 3, a much-needed expansion of the theater’s stage area, added storage space, and remote office space.

We’ll have an in-depth look at the many features of the International Bank of Amherst Terrace in an upcoming issue.
