Little Britches Rodeo honors founder

With this year’s Little Britches Rodeo marking the event’s 50th anniversary, organizers named its rough stock arena the “Peterson Arena” in honor of Allen Peterson, who was one of the founding members of Amherst Boots and Saddle Club and started the Little Britches of Wisconsin Rodeo in Amherst 50 years ago.

Boots and Saddle Club member Jenny Blenker told the Spirit, “Our club decided to name the rough stock arena the ‘Peterson Arena’ in remembrance of Allen and his family for all they have done for not only the club but rodeo over the years. Todd Peterson, Allen’s son, came home from Wyoming where he moved about eight years ago to celebrate the anniversary.”
