High School Musical: The Musical comes to the Jensen Center March 9-12

Disney’s smash hit movie musical, High School Musical, comes to life on the Jensen Community Center stage March 9-12! This energetic musical, produced by Variety Productions, consists of an all-volunteer crew, including director Janet Glodowski and all the individuals in her production crew who help bring the show to life. The cast is made up of Amherst High School and Middle School students who bring to life the story of Troy, Gabriella, and the students of East High. The students must deal with issues of first love, friends, and family while balancing their classes and extracurricular activities.

It’s the first day after winter break at East High. The Jocks, Brainiacs, Thespians, and Skaters/Rebels find their cliques, recount their vacations, and look forward to the new year. Basketball team captain and resident jock Troy (Matthew Glodowski) discovers that the brainy Gabriella (Lily Haas), a girl he met singing karaoke on his ski trip, has just enrolled at East High. They cause an upheaval when they decide to audition for the high school musical led by Ms. Darbus (Brylea Eschenbauch) and written by fellow high school student Kelsi (Jenna Pinter). The Assistant Basketball Coach (Jack Spadoni), along with Troy’s friends and basketball teammates, Chad (Sam Wangelin) and Zeke (Michael Glodowski), are in pursuit of the state championship. Meanwhile, twins Sharpay (Callie Konkol) and Ryan (Colton Krebsbach), stars of every high school musical, are fighting to secure their spots in lead roles. The students’ teacher, Ms. Tenny Moderator (Jen Omernik), leads the group of Brainiacs, Taylor (Seve Anderson) and Martha Cox (Addison Lafler), in competitions with Gabriella’s help. And Jack Scott (Jason Martin) keeps everyone on schedule with his daily high school announcement. The rest of the students are in an upheaval to the threat posed to the “status quo,” as Troy and Gabriella’s alliance might just open the door for others to shine as well. The cast also includes Jocks/Coaches: Ryan Breed, Noah Spoelstra, Ethan Haas, Drew Lewallen, Spencer Cohen, Hunter Warner, and Doug Spadoni; Thespians: Ava Krebsbach, Kasey Werachowski, Sascha Gollon, Presley Voss, Abby Giddings, Sydnee Schulist, Sara Breed, and Payton Jastromski; Brainiacs: Aleah Breed, Abbey Rieck, Scout Spadoni, Maddie Lusic, Danica Lassa, and Haley Peskie; Skaters/Rebels: Ray Spadoni, Dierks Klieforth, Leila Stremkowski, Yvonne Pinkalla, Anna Bernarde, Carlee Patoka, Natalie Carlson, Kendall Podeszwa, and Collin Voss; Cheerleaders: Siri Anderson, Courtney Groholski, Aubrey Noel, Lexi Martin, Aubrey Chandler, Maizee Martin, Eden Lea, Maggie Eichmann, Gabby Cole, Zoe Dambroski, Madison Kimes, Josie Tayler, and Hazel Singer; Mini Cheer Team: Grayson Konkol, Kashton Konkol, Mila Konkol, James McBride, Liam Leonhardt, and Quinn Mahoney; Stage Crew: Reid Olson, Olivia Helgemo, Emma Wolff, and Logan Mcleod; Technical Crew: Hollie Singer, John Carlson, and Gideon Cole.
