Point Dance Ensemble returns to Jensen Center January 16

PDE Company members perform “In Waiting,” part of Dance on Film 2020 by PDE Guest Artist Constance Anderson.

The Point Dance Ensemble (PDE) returns to the Jensen Community Center January 16 at 2 p.m. for Choreography Showcase 2022, featuring company members’ original choreography.

Tickets are available at the door the day of the performance and are $12 for adults, $10 for senior citizens and students, and free for those 5 years and younger.

The matinee performance features a variety of styles of dance including contemporary, jazz, and modern. Company members explored choreography concepts and composed pieces ranging from solos to group pieces. In additional to the performance, a bake sale will take place during intermission with coffee and hot chocolate available. Regardless of vaccination status, audience members are asked to wear a mask for COVID safety measures.

PDE is a local, non-profit dance company that was founded in January 2000 and is not affiliated with any specific dance studio. The group’s mission is to inspire a lasting love and appreciation for dance by connecting our community to unique outreach and inclusive programming through dance.

Choreographers and performers of the Showcase include Lydia Baird, Brooklyn Fox, Nicole Fox, Victoria Franz, Addison Hicks, Kelsi Judziewicz, Brooke Lewandowski, Annika Marchant, Max Nieman, Gwen O’Keefe, Ava Olds, Ava Sankey, Marissa Stolt, Emily Sweet, Olivia VanArk, Addison Hicks, Ahlyianna Palbrach, Payton Vollendof, Leah Wetterau, and Ella Woyak.

Funding for the event was made possible by grant funding through the Wisconsin Art Board, The National Endowment for the Arts, and the Central Wisconsin Community Foundation.
