2023 Business of the Year: 13 Chairs

2023 Business of the Year:

13 Chairs

Nominated by Toni Starr

13 Chairs has transformed Amherst to be a destination for unique and exemplary dining in a charming and wonderful way reflexive of the warmth of the chef and owner, Eleonore Nefelibata.

Eleonore has participated in many events that Amherst has offered over the last 10 years or so, from Celebrate Amherst to renovating the Opera House and special events at the Jensen Community Center.

[Editor’s note: Additional information for this nomination comes from a profile that the Community Spirit ran in its July 2022 issue.]

Located next to the Village Hive Bakery at 137 Main Street, and formerly known as The Swarm, 13 Chairs is a small restaurant, with, literally, 13 chairs. It specializes in vegan and vegetarian fare.

Eleonore is available to cater events (weddings, memorials, birthdays, etc.) for up to 150 people. Private parties, including Sunday brunches, anniversary celebrations, and book club meetings, are frequently held at 13 Chairs.

She said her dream for the business is to provide a unique, intimate space for patrons to enjoy traditional and exotic meals with local regulars and patrons from Green Bay, Milwaukee, and Chicago.
