Janet Glodowski and other musical friends to perform
Music lovers and community supporters alike are invited to gather at the Jensen Community Center on Friday, August 1, for “Tunes on the Terrace,” an outdoor concert experience designed to bring the community together — and get closer to completing funding for the third stage of the Jensen Center’s 3Stage Expansion Project, an addition to the theater’s backstage and storage space.
Presented by Variety Productions, the concert will be held on the International Bank of Amherst Terrace at the Jensen Center. Doors open at 5 p.m. for food, drinks, and raffles, with live music kicking off at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $10 per person at the door, with all proceeds benefiting the 3Stage Expansion Project.
The evening promises a wide range of musical entertainment — including rock, country, Christian, pop, and even a few polkas — ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs. In the event of rain, the concert will move indoors.
The 3Stage Expansion Project is an ambitious effort to enhance the Jensen Center’s performance and programming capacity, allowing for larger events, better production capabilities, and more opportunities for the local arts scene to thrive.
Variety Productions Director Janet Glodowski said, “This is about more than just a concert — it’s a chance for our community to come together and invest in a space that brings us all joy, creativity, and connection. We hope people will come for the music but leave with a deeper sense of what we can accomplish together.”
Following the concert, guests can continue enjoying food, drinks, and prize drawings until the evening winds down. It’s a full night of fun and philanthropy, all aimed at creating a brighter future for the Jensen Community Center and the greater Amherst area.
