Laughter, lies, and a little bit of chaos

Neil Simon’s Rumors comes to the Jensen Center Oct. 16 & 18

Get ready for an unforgettable evening of fast-paced comedy, sharp wit, and delicious food as Variety Productions presents Neil Simon’s uproarious farce Rumors, directed by Kenny Voss. This high-energy production, featuring local actors and some familiar faces, promises to deliver side-splitting laughs and over-the-top antics for adult audiences.

Set in an upscale New York suburb, Rumors opens with a bang — literally — and the chaos only escalates from there. As guests arrive for a dinner party at the Deputy Mayor’s home, they discover the host has been shot (don’t worry — it’s only a flesh wound), the hostess is missing, and the servants have vanished. What follows is a whirlwind of miscommunication, mistaken identities, and outrageous cover-ups as the guests scramble to protect their reputations and make sense of the madness.

In true party fashion, audiences will be treated to more than just the action onstage. Food and drinks will be available for purchase before curtain. Final details on the dinner menu and drink offerings will be shared soon — stay tuned!

Rumors also marks Variety Productions’ first venture into non-musical theatre, offering local actors a fresh opportunity to showcase their talent in a new light while highlighting the company’s creative range. Proceeds from the production will support the ongoing 3Stage Expansion Project, helping bring the community one step closer to making that vision a reality.

Show dates are October 16 and 18, with tickets priced at $15. Please note: This production is recommended for mature audiences due to some strong language and adult humor.

Tickets will go on sale August 25 via email at VPJGtix@gmail.com or by texting (715) 340-8078. More information on ticketing and dinner options will be shared after they are finalized. For any questions in the meantime, please contact varietyproductionsJG@gmail.com.
